Ratifikasi Statuta Roma diharapkan akan membawa dampak pada penguatan dan perbaikan mekanisme pengadilan HAM. Ratifikasi Statuta Roma juga akan menjadikan dasar yang kuat bagi perlunya melakukan amandemen mendasar atas peraturan perundang-undangan tentang HAM, terutama UU No. 26 Tahun 2000 tentang Pengadilan HAM yang selama ini terbukti tidak efektif.
